Alphabet Belgium appoints Jens Binnemans as ESG Officer for a stronger focus on sustainability

After obtaining the Ecovadis Gold Label last year, Alphabet Belgium is taking further steps in its commitment to sustainability by appointing Jens Binnemans as its first Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Officer.
With this new role, Alphabet aims to further integrate sustainability into all aspects of its operations. Jens will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive sustainability strategy focused on reducing ecological impact, enhancing social responsibility, and ensuring good corporate governance.
Jens Binnemans has been with the BMW Group, of which Alphabet is a part, since 2017. He began his career at BMW Financial Services Belgium and later switched to Product Specialist for Alphabet Belgium. In his previous role, Jens made a significant contribution to sustainability, notably as the leader of Alphabet Belgium's Sustainability Taskforce.
"The appointment of Jens as our first full-time ESG Officer is a milestone for our company and our journey towards more sustainable operations," says CEO Tracey Leith. "With his expertise and passion for sustainability, we are confident that he will help us take further steps and embed sustainability across all branches of our business while also supporting our customers in achieving their sustainability goals."
"I am excited to take on this new role," emphasizes Jens Binnemans. "Sustainability is essential in today's business operations. I look forward to further integrating sustainability into our daily operations, processes, and mindset, essentially into the DNA of our company and our offerings to our customers."
